loving through hurt

“Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. And walk in love, as Christ also has loved us and given Himself for us, an offering and a sacrifice to God for a sweet-smelling aroma.”

ephesians 5:1-2

i’ve recently had an experience that lead to a lot of hurt. i was sorely misunderstood by multiple individuals, that seemed to have built an alliance of sorts against me. (not fun.) poor communication has lead to misunderstanding and offenses and hurtful things being said and done. i’ve learned a few lessons throughout this experience, and done what i could to make right my own follies, but now here’s the part where you walk in love.

over the last several months, God has been dealing with me about love. that small, four-letter word that is very simple and very profound. i believe the truest definition of love that i’ve seen is, “giving someone the best when they deserve the worst.” that’s exactly what God did and does for us every day. that’s what he calls us to do: to love (i mean, really love) him and others in a real and deliberate way. i’d much appreciate your prayers. 🙂
